World-leading cognac house Hennessy has commissioned New York based artist KAWS to design a special edition bottle of their V.S. line set. The limited produced bottles features bright colors and signature KAWS trademarks, like the XXes and chomped teeth. Each bottle is individually numbered and will be released in September. I had the pleasure of backpacking it through Costa Rica with my crew for 9 days filled with adventure and shenanigans. After landing in San Jose, we trekked through Monteverde, Santa Teresa, and Puerto Viejo. Each city visited was a total different experience from the next. Last but not least, we got to throw down a DJ set with the Chicago bredren/tour guide/DJ MadAdam at Mango’s in Puerto Viejo where he now resides. The bar was packed and the tunes were current Top 40, but soon they were treated to a classic hip hop set from 2pac to Biggie. Pictures coming soon!

Continuing off it’s city series collaboration with adidas Originals, UK retailer size? comes nicely with a Cardiff inspired colorway for their 10th anniversary. The colorway draws inspiration from the cross of St. David and will feature “Cardiff” written on the side in the traditional golden signature. After a whole week of sun, sand, and lots of hummus, I managed to squeeze in a DJ set at the yearly T-Market event at the Barzilay Club. What is T-Market? I asked myself that when I got booked by the homie Elad. It’s an outdoor fashion festival of up and coming brands and vendors selling all kinds of fresh gear (think the Israeli Funk Rumble). I mean as soon as I arrived, River Ocean “Love and Happiness” and Roy Ayers was blasting out the speakers. Ahhh I was home. Shouts to Elad Ron, Zebra Music, and Tokimonsta who I caught at Shesek Lounge.

The United States currency hasn’t had a real makeover since the 1930′s. The Dollar ReDe$ign Project however is petitioning to change that. A competition was formed where folks could submit their take on a design of a new dollar. In Depth article on the Huffington Post.
